A Cold Dark Place *****Oh wow, this is an excellent story. I couldn't put it down.
Mallory is an agent and she's more determined than ever to find out who kidnapped her twin sister 18 years ago because she now feels that her twin is no longer alive. Alex used to be an agent but after being left to die in a foreign land, a secret government agency agreed to get him out if he became their assassin. The two meet by chance and are instantly attracted but fight it because on their "no dating" rule.
Alex almost gets caught at his next "job" and has to bug Mallorys life to make sure she isn't on to him but finds someone else already there sneaking into her place now he becomes tangled up in trying to protect her. He realizes he's in over his head but he can no longer resist her no more than she can resist him but she has no idea how deep her family is involved in his secret..

This time around the author chose a terrorist attack as the plot. Jed is an overworked agent on a forced vacation & just happens to be at the mall shopping when the attack occurs and ends up getting personally attached to single mom, Vivi & her special 8 year old son.
It's a very interesting tangled web of blackmail, deception, secrecy & even a shocking Gateway revelation of the true enemy. In the end this couple realize with each other to lean on, they can handle it all. This story wasn't quite as romantic as previous, (A Cold Dark Place) it's still a great read & it was also great to get an update on Alex & Mallory.

Scarlett is determined to clear her dying father's name, so she plans to plant one of her specialized bugs in the office of the Russian ambassador but her plan is unsuccessful & blows up in her face. Now she is stuck with FBI special agent, Matt, who doesn't believe in her father innocence but knows her plan has now put her life in danger.
As he plays bodyguard, he also looks into her fathers case & with the help of some other famous agents start digging which makes someone even more determined to not be discovered begin the final cover-up....

I was not sure what to expect when I read the first book in this series. Free books are often lackluster, predictable and woefully poorly edited with typos and omitted sentences which drive the Grammar Police in me crazy. This was none of those things, although I can appreciate a HEA as well as the next reader. This author did a spectacular job of writing intriguing, researched plot lines with fleshed-out characters. I get two opportunities a year to read until my heart is content and I read all three of these novels in as many days. I look forward to the next book in the series!
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS AUTHOR. Great series. I've read up to book 4. I love that the stories are smart , and HOT and have lots of suspense. And maybe I don't have much of an imagination or just live in the moment without adding my own two-cents, but I don't find the stories predictable.
Definitely a good spy/romance story. Characters are defined very well and the story is just complicated enough to be enjoyable. Would read other books by this author. Liked all three books and the way some of the characters were brought into the other books.
Most romantic suspense books offer thin fluff as suspense, but Toni Anderson creates terrifying scenario's with mystery, danger and complex stories. They also have love, passion and sexy characters we can fantasize about. Strong alpha males and strong-willed women whose hearts are melted (and other places too) by genuine chemistry and attraction.
These tales are amongst the best this genre has to offer. If you like real suspense thrillers mixed with great love stories then anything by Toni Anderson will wet your whistle, somewhere!
So glad I came across this author! I totally enjoyed the first 3 books of the Cold Justice series A Cold Dark Place, Cold Pursuit & Cold Light of Day. I found the first book a little difficult to read because of the subject matter but was quickly drawn into the story and characters. Each book was better than the one before and I loved how the previous characters were threaded thru the series. I could not stop at book 3 and just purchased the 4th book, Cold Fear!
5+ Stars for this box set. A must-read for romantic suspense lovers.

This is my first book by Toni Anderson and it won't be the last. I loved A Cold Dark Place and highly recommend it to romantic suspense lovers.

WOW, Cold Pursuit grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go. Romantic suspense at its very best!!! I am so glad I discovered Toni Anderson. If you like Kaylea Cross, you will love Toni Anderson.

Fast-paced, intelligent plot and characters so realistic that you feel you're in the midst of the action along side them. Wonderfully writen, engaging and believable with explosive chemistry between the H and h. A must read for any Romantic Suspense reader.

Action right from the start and through to the end. Fascinating plot full of political intrigue and a bond between the H and h with respect and honor forging a lasting love. I couldn't put this one down - Artfully written!
